Your first game of padel in East Yorkshire

Padel is tennis's friendlier cousin: a smaller court with glass walls, an underarm serve and doubles every time. If you can hold a racket, you can play — and most people are hooked by the end of the first hour.

How it works

Three things and you're playing

No membership, no kit list, no experience. Here is the whole of it.

  1. 1

    Get four together

Padel is doubles. Four players, one court, one hour — that's the format. Short of players? Ring us and we'll try to match you up.

  2. 2

    Turn up in trainers

We have rackets and balls at the courts. Wear something you can move in and bring a drink. That's it.

  3. 3

    Play the walls

Serve underarm below the waist, let the ball bounce off the glass, keep the rally going. Scoring is the same as tennis.

The rules, in a minute

Everything a first-timer needs to know

  • Serve underarm, below the waist, bouncing the ball first — one second serve, like tennis.
  • Scoring is tennis scoring: 15, 30, 40, game. Six games win a set.
  • The ball can come off the glass walls and stay live — chase it.
  • The ball must bounce on the floor before it hits a wall on your side.
  • Cage and glass are part of the court, so rallies last far longer than in tennis.

What to bring

  • Trainers with decent grip — no studs or spikes.
  • Comfortable sportswear; the courts are indoor, floodlit and playable year round.
  • A drink, or buy refreshments on site. Rackets and balls are here waiting for you.
  • Any questions before you come? Call Henry on 07833 231849 or Ed 07836 516360.
